This part is Andy: Breakfast this morning (which was really nice)--it was Buffett style and it was in a large resturant. We got some food and then put our plates down to grab one more thing. As I started going back to our chairs I noticed a guy sitting right next to us (keep in mind it was a huge restuarant area and there were only about 4 people there at this time), I looked at the guy and said, "Oh, did we take your seat" He said "no" and kept eating. I quickly glanced at the waitress and she mouthed "sorry" ....it all turned out good though, he was a really cool guy from Italy. ANd hey...who doesn't want to sit next to Marsjon.
Tian'am Square: This was a huge town square, the largest in the world, it use to be all surrounded by walls during the reign of their emporers. The powped worker below is cleaning gum off of the floor, Andy thought this was cool :).
Forbidden City: Huge "city" or outer court and inner court for the emporer and empress. All of these roofs are the buildings inside, it just felt like it went on forever. There are 9,999.5 rooms in the forbidden city.
This is a huge stone that was brought in and then had dragons carved into it. The dragon is the symbol of the emporer and his power. The Great Wall: AMAZING!! Truly, this was a sight to see AND to climb, of coarse Andy had to go "just to the next tower" and then "to the next one". I finally gave up, the stairs are steep and MANY! He made it two more towers and finally realized it was useless, he couldnn't reach the top. It was origianlly over 6,000 miles long. WHen we got done, everyones legs were shaking.
THe Bathrooms: WHAT??? This is not just the men's room! fun little outing! It was a little reminiscent of camping, squat and...oh ya, don't forget to bring your own toilet paper. I'm not much of a camper :).
We need one of these: No, this is not a Korean Drama. This is how they really travel around! So cute!!
Tomorrow, we head to our daughters province!
